In 1995 NCDOT made bicycling and walking elements an integral part of their Statewide A sidewalk inventory for all the municipalities in the Piedmont Triad RPO region was completed in 2007 and includes sidewalk distance, condition and curb ramps. Sidewalk data will enable communities to be more competitive in obtaining bicycle and pedestrian grants. Many communities in the Triad have already been successful in this regard. If you have questions or concerns regarding the RPO Sidewalk Inventory, please contact: Hanna Cockburn, Senior Planner Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization (336) 294-4950 Rural Planning Organization Website
